Hey guys! I honestly can’t believe this site has been around for as long as it has. technically it’s not been a full three weeks yet, but it has been a full 3 work-weeks. Doesn’t feel like it.
Anyways, I made 3 master guides this week, the Quickdraw, Warhawk, and Hellbringer…don’t think that’s gonna be the norm, it’ll be back to 1 a week starting next week, and 2 tops on special occasions like new mech releases. So that’s why I didn’t end up doing the overhaul on old guides like I had meant to. But it shouldn’t be a problem to take care of that over the weekend, and while you may notice that I’ve been pretty good about getting stuff out on the days I mean to, I don’t want this to turn into something that feels like a job unless it actually is a job (which it is nowhere even near).
Also, you may have noticed that I didn’t release a patch rundown despite there being a patch. That’s cuz the patch was like, 2 lines long apart from a mech release that I made a full guide to. Really didn’t feel like going through the effort for an 8 second video.
So, sorry about that, but I’ll make it up to you! Promise. Things on the docket right now:
- Updating the two old building guides
- Adding a new one for newer players
- Adding a section on the current “meta” (shout out to StillRadioactive for the idea and Krivvan on implementation)
- Tier list update on Wednesday! Probably not massive, but a few builds to be updated, a few mechs to be moved, and maybe a couple additions (like the HBR, obviously).
Anyways, on with the
Build of the Week
Goddamn it is really hard to come up with “new” builds. I’m making a slight modification to the rules so that as long as it’s new as in nobody ever does it and you probably haven’t heard of it, it counts. I still want to try to make builds that are new to me too but…I don’t think you guys realize quite how much time I spend in Smurfy’s. I’ve tried everything I can think of, and I obviously can’t think of anything I haven’t thought of (though that won’t stop me from trying next week).
Anyways, since the Hellbringer was just released, I’ve decided to do this on a completely different 65-ton chassis
You’re slow, squishy, and don’t have much ammo, but who cares? You’ve got a 50 damage pinpoint frontloaded alpha strike that will make even the meanest mech quiver in fear. Fire from about 200 meters and hope to high heaven that they don’t decide to start shooting at you, cuz baby you won’t last long. Don’t be scared of the ghost heat and fire an alpha strike! Just..don’t do it again…cuz shit this thing is hot without ghost heat. Meh, who cares! One firing group for the left side, one for the right side, and one for the PPC so you can do the super-long-range pokes! As if. Usually, alpha striking ain’t a great idea, but in pre-engagement when you can hide to cool down, fuckin take one and cool off, then take another. They’ll be scared to push, even though that’s exactly what would completely wreck you…
At any rate, glhf and…try not to die too much?
