Hey guys! So this week was a bit slow for MetaMechs content again (PGI PLS I NEED A FIX), but things have been progressing well otherwise. Since not much has been posted in the last week, I’m also gonna be skipping this week’s Reddit Digest for those of you that live over there with me <3
The next thing I want to address is that there is another bit of community content so special that I think it deserves its own blog post dedicated to it! (Well, actually no I just forgot, but it sorta does deserve its own post cuz its probably my favorite community creation since Smurfy’s itself…besides MetaMechs of course that site is awesome). That is of course…
aweMech for MechWarrior Online
I got to closed beta test this thing and back then it was great, but now it’s bloody phenomenal. We’ve been waiting over two years for an Android mechlab on par with Smurfy’s (well, for one at all for that matter), and this dude delivered. It’s nice and polished, takes maybe 3 minutes to learn it all, and is fully integrated with Smurfy’s in terms of being able to open Smurfy links on a mobile device in the app as well as being able to export builds created in the App to Smurfy’s, which means that it is superbly good at going between desktop and mobile stuff and will increase your mobile MetaMechs experience by a factor of a bazillion if you install it. It is still in Beta so there are a few glitches (I hear, haven’t experienced anything serious myself), but still. Could not recommend more highly. Whenever I’m away from my computer and am bored or waiting for something, I just whip this baby out and go to town.
Okay where’s my $200 in promotional money? (JUST KIDDING I’M NOT THAT GOOD OF A SHILL)
Other than that, I’m planning on doing some house cleaning today, just fixing the place up generally and making things fit nicer.
Also holy shit I gotta say, I think PGI is trolling us (or maybe Reddit is just trolling me) with those new Clan variants. Seriously, I haven’t looked too deeply into it, but…seriously. No. Pls no. JJs on a whale…
That’s pretty much it though…don’t got much to say other than that we should get on with the goddamn build of the week. Trigger warning: this is a tryhard build.
Coming up with a better version of the current laser vom Timmy has been a project of mine for a while, with lots of things considered, but this is the one that I feel is, like, good. It’s definitely hot, no doubt about that, but it can do pretty much everything. The only thing I was thinking about other than this for competition was this version which I came up with months ago, but its craziness has really thrown me off (I don’t like having to sync up more than two types of beams…which is also what threw me off trev’s crazy build which I wasn’t there to witness but my own recreation of the theory turned out something like this). Anyways, basically just alpha when you can, use your cERLLs when they’re out of cERML range, and use your cERMLs when they’re inside of 450 meters. Would recommend cERLL cooldown module with Radar Dep and Seismic. Cool Shot is a must, and I’d go with Air Strike too. You can alpha strike twice easily, and then just cool off while you use whatever weapons are most appropriate for your range bracket. 3 cERML is heat negative (as in, you’ll cool off), and 4 is manageable pretty easily and as long as you don’t start firing them while you’re pushing the threshold you can sustain that for a while. Oh and the highest % you can alpha strike from is 45.
This also lead me to make another Hybrid Timmy build.
That’s pretty much it. The extra half ton bothers me, but, not enough to want to change anything.
